John Coltrane is one of the most renowned jazz artists and influential saxophonists in music history and 2020 marks the 60th anniversary of Giant Steps, one of Coltrane's finest works. To commemorate, the album is being reissued as a 60th anniversary deluxe pressing.
The double LP deluxe edition features the album remastered across x2 180g LP discs and includes a 12" x 12" booklet, all packaged in a replica of the original 1969 stereo pressing. The second disc on both vinyl and CD feature bonus alternative takes and versions - including rehearsals and incomplete tracks.
Giant Steps was selected by the Library of Congress in 2004 to be added to the National Recording Registry and attained U.S. gold record status in 2018, with over 500,000 units sold.
