I Don't Run
This is the highly anticipated second album from the all-female, Spanish indie-rock quartet, Hinds. Leaving behind the dreamy cool-girl sound of their first album Leave Me Alone and earlier releases, I Don’t Run glistens with the pop-punk production of co-producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor) and engineer Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, The War On Drugs and John Legend).
Not satisfied with writing about being carefree, happy and young, the band returns with honest music, striving to earn their success. “We loved making this album,” Says Ana Perrote, the band’s guitarist and vocalist, “we knew what we wanted and we have what we wanted. This is a new start for us and we're fucking ready.”
Vocalist and guitarist Carlotta Cosials, bassist and backing vocalist Ade Martin, and drummer Amber Grimbergen, make up the other three quarters of the band. Hinds’ signature dual vocal and Raphael’s noughties indie-punk sound opens the album with ‘The Club’.
The distorted Strokes-style vocal production on ‘New For You’ brings an edgy punk aesthetic to the record, whilst still being suggestive of earlier releases, with surf-rock guitar sounds and Stone Roses-esque melodic bass lines. I Don’t Run is available as a limited edition transparent 12” vinyl.
