Swedish five piece, The Amazing, return with their fifth album, coming almost two years after the classic Ambulance.
In Transit is an 11 track, 70 minute journey of dream like music that stands strong as a wonderful piece of heartfelt, at times almost shoegazing indie rock.
The album’s centrepiece and standout track, ‘Rewind’ is full of soft grooves and dreamy vocals. The track is hazy and languid, ending up feeling almost meditative.
In Transit shows a clear progression in the band’s confidence and bravery, thanks largely to singer Christoffer Gunrup’s humble and honest self-deprecation.
The song writing is personal throughout. The moody guitar work adds layers of distortion to an album that remains abstract, elusive and subtly moving.
In Transit is the band’s latest and finest statement. The Amazing are a prolific band; their tone is gorgeous. Gunrup’s exposed vulnerability is enchanting and this is a common thread that weaves its way through In Transit. ‘Without music, I would have been even more boring than I am,’ he claims. His compelling ability and compulsion to create incredible, melodious music is therefore certainly our gain. Be a part of it. I am.
