American punk/indie rock band, Titus Andronicus was formed in Glen Rock, New Jersey in 2005. A Productive Cough is their fifth studio album and consists of seven tracks that are far more subtle than anything the band has released before.

A Productive Cough is a move away from the heavy, hammering tones of a typical punk rock album in favour of music that’s intimate and soul-bearing. With a mixture of stunning guitars and bells, uplifting vocals and dulcet horns there is so much more to this album then meets the eye.

When discussing A Productive Cough lead singer/songwriter Patrick Stickles said: Punk rock is nice, but it is but one tool in the toolbox from which I pull to achieve my artistic purpose, and that purpose has always been communication and validation. This time, perhaps I can more effectively talk to the people if I am not so busy yelling at them.
