A Hero's Death

Dogrel, the debut album from 2019’s breakout indie band Fontaines D.C., might have won multiple Album of the Year awards – not least at BBC 6Music – and been nominated for (and robbed of…) the 2019 Mercury Prize, but these Dublin lads aren’t resting on any laurels whatsoever. Scarcely a year after the release of Dogrel, Fontaines D.C. announce its follow up: A Hero’ Death. The success of Dogrel left the band overworked and worried by other people’s expectations. A Hero’s Death is a quick second album that they felt they had to make as a band, for themselves. A Hero’s Death is confident (naturally), philosophical, darker and deeper.
