The tail-end of 2019 welcomes four reissues that chart the most commercially prosperous period for Queens of the Stone Age. Though on album number seven today, the four records between 2000 and 2007 mark the most significant period of a band who carved a legacy as one of the great rock bands of the ‘00s. Fans will argue all day long over whether 2002’s Songs For The Deaf is artistically better than 2000’s Rated R but it is undeniably the album where critical acclaim met commercial success. With Dave Grohl on sticks and big hits like ‘No One Knows’ still ringing around Friday night indie bars to this day, Songs is the quintessential QOTSA record.
This is the first official reissue since 2003 and is cut on double 180g black vinyl, housed in a gatefold jacket with a 12” x 12” insert. The item also features the original black graphics on a red background, which is a first for the vinyl release.
