The most well known TG 'studio' album was easily the group's most subversive. Rather than continue in the obviously provocative vein the pop culture of the time had been accustomed to, Throbbing Gristle threw a great curveball. By parodying easy listening sleeves of the 60s and 70s, TG sugared their output just enough to raise the profile of their work. Once lured in however, the listener is blasted with alternate soundworlds - from the musique concrete minimalism of tracks like Beachy Head and Exotica to their most cited track Hot on the Heels of Love - the blue print for almost every leftfield electro track that followed. This perfect avant-pop record was released in 1979 and the rest of the music world is still playing catch up.
