Humanz

Re-emerging from their virtual dystopian underbelly, Gorillaz have returned with their fifth studio album, Humanz, after six years incognito. Having played the harbingers of desolation and totalitarianism for nigh on twenty years, the seismic shift in International rule, the nuclear stalemate and general impending doom of the real world seem to have offered Gorillaz the perfectly-timed platform to present their own bastardised version of what could be. In actual fact, Damon Albarn reportedly told collaborators to imagine a future where Trump won the US election before it happened, in order to inspire the kind of vibe he was looking for on this Gorillaz outing.

As with each Gorillaz album there are a host of collaborators, this time including Vince Staples, Clementine, Kelela, Popcaan and De La Soul return again too.

As for the all-important editions for sale, we have the standard edition, which is a double LP, as well as the deluxe edition, in which the double heavyweight vinyl rests within a cloth-bound, foil blocked 54-page hardback book of Gorillaz artwork by Jamie Hewlett.
