Currents is the third, and easily most celebrated Tame Impala album. It is the album that propelled Kevin Parker long past the damp denim psychedelia-heads and into an unfamiliar world of mainstream radio and commercial accolades. Waves of kaleidoscopic synthesizers and programming largely replaced fuzzy guitars and rudimentary acoustic drum loops to create Parker’s magnum opus. Alongside standard black vinyl, Currents is also available as a Collectors Edition box set, comprising two red marble vinyl LPs with alternate artwork, a 12” vinyl featuring remixes, a B-sides 7” disc, poster and zine. Beautiful.
