Lucid Express are a group of five young dreamers from Hong Kong, creating soaring, bittersweet gaze-soaked rock. The follow up to their 2021 self-titled debut album, Instant Comfort features their most intricately layered arrangements to date, with Lucid Express enlisted shoegaze-auteur, Kurt Feldman (The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Depreciation Guild) to mix and master – resulting in elevating the band's sound to its clearest and most exhilarating yet.
Convening via Discord, Instant Comfort was shaped through marathon overnight trans-pacific sessions between the band in Hong Kong and Feldman in New York City—a shared quest for perfection playing out from midnight through sunrise. Infused with equal parts creeping melancholia and hopeful romanticism, disorienting feelings are embraced in these new songs. Airy melodies are anchored by heavy wall of guitars: see “Promise Me” and “Something Blue.”
