Wire are one of the greatest post-punk/art-rock bands of all time. Period. And the first three albums released between 1977 and 1979 [Pink Flag, Chairs Missing and 154] are accepted by most as their very best work. Chairs Missing is the filling in the Wire best of sandwich, the middle of the three, released in 1978 to critical acclaim. Following their widely lauded and hugely influential debut album Pink Flag, Chairs Missing saw the band transcend even the limits of post-punk, creating a more progressive, arty rock record while retaining the punk sensibilities of Pink Flag. Contains the modest hit single ‘Outdoor Miner’ and ‘I Am The Fly’.
